Drying
You'll have plenty of time to model, as the resin won't harden before it's exposed to light.
Once the resin is in the position you want it in, EXPOSE IT TO THE SUN.
Continue to hold the plastic film in place until the resin gellifies. Once it has gellified, you can remove the plastic. Continue with the hardening process in the sun for 3 to 5 minutes.
Gently remove the plastic film.
Finish
With the sandpaper, you can lightly sand the rough edges to create the perfect, glossy, hand, and durable finish.
How to apply
In a shady spot, squeeze out just enough SOLAREZ to fill the damaged area, no more than 5 mm at a time. Put the lid back on the tube.
Cover the repair site with a piece of smooth and clear plastic film. This will keep your fingers clean, so you can shape and model the resin and give it a glossy finish once you're done.
With the plastic in place, work the resin into the damaged area, and eliminate any bubbles.

Important note
The quick hardening of the SOLAREZ resin makes it very hot.
If the depth of your repair is greater than 3 mm, and if the sun is particularly intense (i.e., like in tropical climates), you'll need to intermittently put the repair area in the shade to avoid heat accumulation. Expose it to the sun for 5 seconds, then put it in the shade for 5 seconds for the first minute.
Preparation of the repair area
The areas must be clean, dry and wax-free. Prepare the surface by removing any old and broken fibreglass and any sand, up to 5 mm around the repair area, using the sandpaper.
Rigid surfboard
Epoxy (PE) or polyester (PU) repair kit?
Your rigid surfboard may be composed of epoxy resin or polyester resin. We refer to them as "PE" or "PU" boards:
PE: Polyurethane foam block with epoxy resin
PU: Polyurethane foam block with polyester resin.
To repair your board in epoxy or polyester resin, you need:
- A surfboard repair kit: An epoxy resin or a polyester resin, depending on your board's material.
