TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR FEET WARM
Keeping your feet warm is above all a matter of circulation!
The main error is to overly tighten your shoes, because when blood circulates poorly, the foot doesn't get enough blood and the feeling of cold will increase. Overly thick winter socks and also compress the foot inside the shoe.
Cold often comes from wind chill, so cover the ends of your feet with a windproof toe cover or windproof overshoes!
OVERSHOES OR TOE COVER?
The two products are complementary.
A toe cover provides greater freedom, is easier to take off and on, but has limited use below 8/9°C.
Its ease of use, as well as its compact design, makes it a choice item in a cyclist's wardrobe.
WATER SPREAD VIA CAPILLARITY
If your bike shorts don't have a water repellent treatment, it's very probable that they will fill with water when it rains. So even the best overshoes in the world are useless... your leggings will be in contact with your socks and water will spread via capillary action.
That's why at VAN RYSEL, we only offer winter bike shorts with a water repellent membrane such as the long RACER shorts.
