1 - Choosing the right SIZE
Choose ski size according to your weight and not its length.
SKATE SKI 500
with UNIVERSAL CAMBER
171 cm (50 to 64 kg)
176 cm (55 to 69 kg)
181 cm (65 to 79 kg)
186 cm (75 to 90 kg)
191 cm (80 to 90+ kg)
If you’re hesitating between two different skate ski sizes, we advise you to take the shorter ski if you’re looking for a more manoeuvrable ski, which is easier if you’re new to the skate skiing sport.
2 - Bindings
These skis are fitted with Fischer “Compact Step-In” bindings, compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic standards.
3 - Waxing, the secret of durability!
When buying skis, we recommend that you prepare the base well to achieve an optimum glide. Several consecutive waxings are best to "nourish" the base properly.
To wax your skis, check out our tutorials on our Inovik YouTube channel or book an appointment in your Decathlon workshop.
GLOSSARY = Construction of a ski
Our skis are made using a "sandwich" structure: by layering different materials in the core of the ski and across its entire width.
The final product is assembled with a press.
CORE = the centre of the ski: wooden (solid or with channels) or composite (honeycomb or Nomex®)
BASE = Part in contact with snow: it is made of sintered or extruded high density polyethylene (HDPE).
SIDECUTS = width of a ski at the tip, waist and heel
