Are these roller skis equipped with a braking system?
This is a real innovation!
Since the fear of being unable to brake is the main source of anxiety about roller skiing, we have developed this brake system to help you get started with roller skiing.
It will be much easier to use than the "snow-plough or lunge technique.
Before you start, we recommend starting out on flat ground and where there is no "traffic": Empty parking or little-used cycle path to get started and practise.
Can the brake be used by left-handed people?
Yes, entirely !
There are 2 holes on the stomach strap: 1 hole on the right for right-handers, and a hole on the left for left-handers.
To remove and replace the cord for your brake, we recommend that you watch the video below on the SUPPORT website.
Can I add a second brake?
We recommend that you use just one brake for better balance. Indeed, activating the brake requires pulling on the handle, and if you put 1 brake on each side, using both hands means you won’t have optimal balance.
Can I use my brake downhill?
Yes, provided the slope isn’t too steep.
For good use of the brake, we recommend you start braking FROM THE START of the descent to ensure progressive braking (when descending by bike, if you brake abruptly, you risk falling off...).
We also recommend you REMAIN STATIC by maintaining a lunge position with the foot without the brake in front to balance yourself on the descent.
Can I use the brake on another pair of rollerskis?
This brake is only compatible with INOVIK SKATING rollerski models. It is not compatible with our classic rollerski model.
Are rollerskis compatible with my cross-country ski boots?
Our pair of rollerskis are sold with Rottefella bindings, which are compatible with standard cross-country ski boots: NNN (Rottefella), PROLINK (Salomon and Atomic) and TURNAMIC (Fischer and Rossignol).
Please note that our rollerskis are not compatible with SNS standard boots.
How do I look after my rollerskis?
To avoid unequal wear, switch the right and left skis regularly.
For your safety, remember to check and replace worn wheels.
Why is it necessary to be well equipped to practise rollerskiing?
Rollerskiing can be a dangerous activity particularly if you do not know the basic skills and do not have the right equipment.
To avoid injuries and accidents, protection is an essential part of rollerskiing. We recommend that you wear a helmet and gloves to protect your head and hands in case of falling on tarmac.
Opt for a colourful outfit or fluorescent vest to be clearly visible to other users.
Is it possible to move the bindings to suit my boot size?
Our rollerskis are equipped with a pre-drilled aluminium frame so you can move the binding according to your boot size.
N.B.: only use a PZ3 screwdriver
To carry out this operation, we recommend you make an appointment at the workshop.
