Can I be sure my women's snowboarding trousers will give me proper protection in bad weather?
For braving bad weather (rain, snow, wind etc.), these women's snowboarding trousers have been developed with a waterproof material and a design that stops water getting through and reduces the effects of the wind. We have spent a few days snowboarding and carried out tests over long periods, in all conditions, to validate the waterproofing of the product.
Why are my trousers water repellent?
The water-repellent feature makes water run off the fabric without seeping in thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using the products available in our stores. All the waterproof trousers that we design for snowboarders are water-repellent.
Water often gets in through the seams. Do my trousers have waterproof seams?
As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of the trousers with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. This skiing garment has taped seams in the areas most exposed to snow (buttocks, hips).
How do my trousers keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester which stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or silicone-coated, each with different properties (warmth, light weight, elasticity, etc.). The Snowboard 100 trousers also come with WARM SEAT technology which improves the insulation on the seat by 54% when sitting in the snow.
"Coated" trousers: what are the advantages of this coating?
A breathable coating is a coating applied to a fabric in the form of a paste or liquid which creates a protective film. The breathable coating is a waterproof barrier that lets through water vapour produced by the body when snowboarding.
How should you wash your trousers?
To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend:
* Machine wash at 30°, synthetic programme.
* Turn the product inside out.
* Add a small amount of detergent. No softener.
* We recommend you wring it by hand.
* Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric using a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
How should I dress to avoid getting cold legs in the mountains?
To keep your legs warm and dry, 2 layers of clothing are enough:
- 1 ski base layer to wick away perspiration.
- 1 ski trouser to protect against bad weather and provide warmth.
How can I prevent snow from getting into my trousers?
The trousers have elasticated gaiters at the ankles to cover the boots. If you fall or come into contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
