Proteins contribute to maintaining muscle mass. They are one of the body's 3 essential macronutrients (the others being lipids and carbohydrates). The ANSES (French Agency for Food, world and Occupational Health & Safety) recommends consuming 0.83 per kg of body weight* per day.
