FGC construction: Fiber Glass Composite
Decathlon Skateboarding has designed this new composite construction with 5 layers of FSC-certified Canadian maple and 2 layers of woven fibreglass, pressed with an Epoxy resin.
This new construction makes the board twice as resistant to breakage as a classic 7-ply maple construction.
Since it's lighter, the board also has more pop (bounce) and lasts longer than a 100% maple board.
Because we don't always land cleanly!

One board per mould
Our FGC decks are individually hot pressed, with an epoxy resin. This means that each mould only presses one board at a time. This allows us to guarantee optimal pressure distribution so that each board of the same model has the exact same shape and curve. Which is an advantage for those that enjoy skating with the same shape.
How to choose the right deck size
A skateboard deck should be chosen based on the width you need. A narrower deck means easier handling (great for beginners and shorter riders). The wider the deck, the more stable it is and the safer your landings, making this type of deck good for taller skateboarders or those who like to ride the half-pipes. Sizes are given in inches. 1 inch = 2.54 cm.
The length and wheelbase also have a major impact on deck handling and stability
FSC-certified maple
The wood that we use is FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council). This certification guarantees that the forest has been managed so as to preserve biodiversity and benefit local people and workers, while ensuring its economic viability.
How are our products tested?
All our decks are tested in the laboratory. These tests validate their compliance with the standards for skateboard decks as well as their resistance to wear. As well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. To achieve this, we rely on our community of passionate and demanding Ambassadors.
A deck co-developed with Edouard Damestoy
We've worked with Edouard Damestoy to develop the DK900 range.
Edouard was the 2022 vert ramp world champion, winner of best trick at the 2022 Tony Hawk Vert Alert and the first French skateboarder to win a gold medal at an X Games event.
