What are the support levels offered by Decathlon's sports bras?
Our bras are put through a lab test that assesses the level of bust support. This test measures the reduction in the acceleration of the breasts' movement during a sports activity. Our bras are then assessed and categorised as follows: 1 for light support, 3 for medium support and 5 for high support.
Which activities need which level of support?
The level of support needed will depend on the type of activity you're doing. We offer three levels of support:
- Level 1: light support for activities that cause gentle breast movement (Pilates, stretching, strength training, etc.);
- Level 3: medium support for activities that cause a moderate level of bounce (dancing, fitness, cardio training, etc.);
- Level 5: high support for activities involving intensive movements (step aerobics, running, trampolining, etc.).
How do you know which size sports bra to get?
It's essential to choose the right size of sports bra to keep your breasts supported and comfortable. Follow these steps:
- Stand in front of a mirror and pick up a tape measure;
- Hold your tape measure horizontally at the top of your back towards the bottom of your shoulder blades; - Bring the tape measure across the fullest part of your bust;
- Take the measurement without pulling it tight;
- Use our online calculator for additional help.
How are Decathlon's sports bras designed?
Decathlon's sports bras are designed to maximise comfort and prevent health problems. The absence of underwiring removes the risk of injury and of compressing the lymph nodes. By getting rid of seams over the nipples, we reduce the risk of chafing. And by using fabrics that wick perspiration, we keep you comfortable while significantly reducing the risk of skin irritation.
How does this sports bra with thin, crossover straps free your movements?
No matter the activity you're doing, it's important that you feel free to move so that you can get the most out of your workout.
That's what we had in mind when designing this sports bra. You'll love how the elastane in the fabric makes it even stretchier. The elasticated underband also moves with you as you work out.Last but not least, we've opted to use thin, crossover straps to free up your shoulder blades.
The thin crossover straps sports bra keeps you dry! But how?
You're not afraid of working up a sweat when exercising. But you don't necessarily like how it leaves you feeling damp and sticky. What if we told you there was a bra that would keep you dry even in the middle of a serious workout?
Impossible, you say? Not for Decathlon! For this bra, we've used a technical fabric that wicks perspiration and dries quickly.
The mesh on the back also makes it more breathable.
Why does the thin crossover strap sports bra have adjustable straps?
We've made the straps adjustable at the back so that you can adapt the bra to fit your body.
Maintaining your thin crossover strap sports bra
This sports bra is designed for intensive use and can withstand frequent washing. We recommend that you remove the foam cups before washing and that you wash everything in our laundry bag, which is sold separately (ref. 8505236).
Wash at no more than 30°C. Use liquid detergent rather than powder, and do not use softeners as they could affect the fabric's breathability. We advise against using a tumble dryer.
Why is it important to protect your breasts during sport?
Did you know that your breasts are supported mainly by skin? This makes them particularly fragile during sports activities, where they're subjected to significant stresses and strains. These movements and bouncing can even make your breasts appear to weigh five times as much as normal, depending on the intensity of your activity. Wearing a sports bra provides support, keeps you comfortable and protects your breasts from impacts, which prevents pain and premature sagging.
Why do these bras come in high, medium and light support?
When you exercise, your breasts are put through stresses and strains that stretch the skin and ligaments. The absence of support increases the risk of pain or premature sagging. Conversely, too much support can cause damage in the long term. Wearing the right level of support for your cup size and the intensity of your activity is therefore essential. The aim is to protect your bust without altering natural breast movement.
