Co-developed with Yannick Bestaven (winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe) to withstand a demanding round-the-world race

The Tribord Offshore PRO outfit was developed and tested with Yannick Bestaven and other partner skippers. It meets the demands of all types of competitions, transatlantic, offshore, single-handed, with a crew and on different boats: Yannick BESTAVEN (IMOCA), Quentin VLAMYNCK (Ocean 50), Achille NEBOUT, LES VOILEUSES AU LARGE, Keni PIPEROL (Class 40), Romain LE GALL (Figaro 3), Sasha LANIECE and Léo BOTHOREL (Mini 6.50)

Particular features of the Offshore PRO SERIES dungarees

In comparison with our 900 dungarees, the PRO dungarees:

- are more robust

- have special reinforcements on the knees

- have a waterproof zip

- have wider and adjustable ankles

The dungarees were designed as part of an outfit with the Offshore PRO shell jacket.

The fabric’s water resistance level

The fabric features 3-layer construction and is resistant to water pressure of 30,000 mm Schmerber (JIS standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is.

The product has been tested using a rainstorm simulator, reproducing rainfall of 450 L/M²/h over 24 hours and in several races with our partner skippers.

Waterproofing of the dungarees

The seams are 100% watertight.

The double zip is watertight when closed (YKK AquaSeal®). This zip is used on drysuits.

With their wide rip-tabs, the ankles can be firmly tightened on boots.

What is water repellency and how to maintain it

The fabric and fastenings are water-repellent.

A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface without seeping in.

This way, your dungarees do not get waterlogged, and remain lightweight and breathable. The water-repellent properties are achieved with a treatment (DWR) applied to the external side of the fabric, but these properties can be altered.

The water-repellent properties can be reactivated by putting the dungarees in a tumble dryer for 10 minutes at low temperature.

Comfort and resistance on the knees and seat for long-lasting waterproofing

A 6 mm layer of foam provides extra comfort at the knees and seat when sailing.

The foam is covered by a resistant component and guarantees improved resistance against abrasion on bearing surfaces.

Wearing the dungarees and shell jacket together also limits the freezing effect (the feeling of being soaked by water leaking into the clothing) and the protective parts separate the skin from the water.

Breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporate resistance or, ISO. It is its ability to allow the water vapour produced by the body during exercise to escape.

The lower the fabric's resistance, the more moisture is evaporated, and therefore the higher the fabric's breathability.

This product’s RET is 25.

Stretchy fabric on the upper body.

The material used for the upper body section of the dungarees is stretchy, to provide greater freedom of movement.

This section is water-repellent but not waterproof.

Adjusting the dungarees to your body shape

The dungarees can be adjusted in 2 places to better adapt to your body shape and equipment:

- shoulder straps can be adjusted with a rip-tab fastening on top of the shoulders, to adapt to your bust height

- rip-tab adjustments on the hips

- rip-tab adjustments on the lower legs, to adapt to your boots.

Resistance to wear

The dungarees have reinforced knees and buttocks for optimal abrasion-resistance.

Pockets

The dungarees have 1 cargo-type storm-proof pocket on the right thigh with a drainage system to evacuate the water.

There is also a loop on the left thigh to attach a knife sheath.

How to choose the size of your dungarees

The product sizing is generously cut. It’s been designed to be worn with thermal underlayers and a fleece underneath.

For men, choose your usual size.

Women should choose one size smaller than their usual size.

How to take care of your dungarees

After use, rinse the thoroughly with clean water, paying attention to the zips to remove any salt.

Dry on a clothes hanger in a well-ventilated place.

We recommend that you lay your dungarees flat on a clothes rack and leave them to air-dry. Caution: never dry your dungarees directly on a radiator.

The loop on the back allows you to attach your dungarees to a hook or coat rack to dry them.

How to wash your dungarees Step 1

Close all the zips and flaps and empty the pockets.

Then turn the clothing inside out to wash it.

How to wash your dungarees Step 2

You can wash your dungarees in a synthetics cycle at 30 °C with your usual washing product. Do not use fabric conditioner, which could damage the existing performance of the garment, or bleach.

Also take care not to bend your dungarees too much when you place them in the washing machine and do not overload your machine.

Very important: select a thorough rinse or double rinse to completely remove all detergent residue.

How to reactivate the water repellency

Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water repellent treatment.

We recommend that you lay your dungarees flat on a clothes rack and leave them to air-dry. Never dry your dungarees directly on a radiator or in direct sunlight.

Then place them in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it back the right way round. Caution: do not over-dry the garment.
