For skate skiing: the poles are bigger in order to maximise the push-off
For classic cross-country skiing: the poles are smaller.
Material:Aluminium they will be sturdy and heavy = ideal for beginners,
Fibreglass: they will be lighter, but more fragile,
Carbon fibre and other materials: very light and rigid.
