The role played by proteins
There are three macronutrients: Proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. What they do, among other things, is provide energy to the body in the form of calories.
Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy for the body and serve as the ideal fuel for exercise.
Protein is one of these three macronutrients, essential for building muscle mass and ensuring that our body functions properly.
Understanding BCAAs
Do you know what lies behind these 4 letters?
Proteins are sequences of amino acids. There are 20 different ones, 9 of which are considered "essential" (they are not synthesized by the body and must therefore be obtained through your diet).3 of these are amino acids. They are called Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAA): leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
Their shape is branched, hence the name. They contribute to building muscle, and aid in the recovery process.
