Regulations
It is essential to comply with the regulations in force for shooting and controlling birds in the crow family (carrion crows and rooks): rules may vary on a regional or local basis. It is therefore the shooter's responsibility to contact the relevant local authority or shooting body in order to find out the species of birds in the crow family (corvids) that can be controlled and the dates when this is permitted, with a view to obtaining the necessary authorisation.
Paint that withstands elements: highlight of this decoy
We decided to opt for a mat black paint that reduces the risk of shine caused by the rays of the sun. This high-quality paint is used together with a flame treatment stage to prolong the life of the product. Knowing that you often use the same decoys from one season to the next, we all wanted to propose a decoy with durable paint, designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, transport and storage.
The steps required to design this crow decoy
It took several months to develop this decoy. It all began with the work of a carver who brought the first prototype to life. 3D modelling was then carried out, along with various adjustments to the dimensions and posture, to produce a true-to-life decoy. The performance of our decoy was then measured in field tests with a very wary bird.
