An innovative, dual-section sole
The design team have carefully studied the movement of the foot during the swing motion, and this has allowed us to create the ideal design for the sole and the structuring of the crampons.
The new sole combines two materials for comfort and maximum grip.
Part 1: the EVA midsole
EVA boosts cushion, which is vital when you're walking 7 or 8 km across the course.
The midsole is asymmetrical to adapt to the particular restrictions in the golf swing motion.
Part 2: the rubber outsole
Rubber is a material that offers flexibility and a lightweight characteristic.
Our R&D team has conducted a study on the movement of the foot during the swing motion. This has allowed us to identify the ideal geometry and thickness of each crampon to guarantee maximum grip during the swing.
We reworked the distribution of the crampons across the entire sole to ensure good durability.
Designer's comments
“The lines of the MW500 converge at the front of the foot for added dynamism. I’ve also reworked the connection between the upper and the sole to reinforce the shoe’s identity.”
It's the details that make the difference
- The base of the upper in mesh is protected by an ultra-thin, thermal sealed film, which protects the toes as well as the entire circumference of the shoe, keeping out humidity without adding weight or taking away flexibility.
- The openwork outsole ensures a lighter shoe and increases comfort.
- The crampons are more pronounced on the front and inner sections of the foot to increase grip during the swing.
