MATERIALS and ECO-DESIGN
Our long Jane sailing suits are made from a limestone-based neoprene. The black colour of the neoprene, called Eco Carbon Black, is obtained by recycling used tyres. The glue used to assemble the textile and neoprene, called Aquaglue, is water-based and solvent-free. The dope-dyed yarn process used for the black colour is water-efficient and environmentally friendly.
29% reduction of the CO2 impact in comparison to the Tribord 1 mm.
REINFORCED KNEES, SHINS, THIGHS AND HAMSTRINGS
The Long Jane has reinforced knees, shins, buttocks and hamstrings. The anti-abrasion fabric works in two ways:
- limiting wear and tear of the neoprene on the areas most exposed to contact with the boat
- limiting discomfort and irritation caused by the inevitable friction and chafing caused when sailing.
For extra comfort, the neoprene thickness has been doubled at the knees.
HASSLE-FREE URINATING, without having to take your diving suit off!
We have designed a comfortable opening, allowing women to urinate easily when out sailing. Located at the crotch, this discreet opening (layered with two layers of stretch neoprene) has been specifically designed with dinghy or catamaran sailing in mind. This means you can easily urinate in a crouching/squatting position.
FITTING ADVICE
The Long Jane is pulled on via the neckline. To get your arms in, we recommend pulling the diving suit up as high on your chest as possible, then putting in one arm at a time. You’ll need to stretch the top of the diving suit to get your shoulders in. Once you’ve got the diving suit on, take the time to position it properly at the shoulders: the stretch neoprene will adjust to your body shape, avoiding the need for an irritating zip.
DESIGN
The cut of the Long Jane has been designed to make it as easy to move in as possible. The armholes are scalloped to allow freedom of movement at the shoulders and arms.
The neoprene used is extremely stretchy, so you can move freely and get the diving suit on and off without need for a ZIP (stretch validated in the main sense of the fabric, also referred to as the “chain”). The absence of a ZIP is a great asset, ensuring maximum comfort. The seams are all flatlock.
MULTI-SPORTS
The Long Jane has been designed with the restrictions of leisurely sailing in mind. Our design choices make it suitable for other sports such as SUP (Stand-up paddleboarding), windsurfing, sea wading or even canoeing/kayaking.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE
To make the most of the features of your diving suit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A sailing diving suit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. If you choose a diving suit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal comfort will be reduced (letting in water). Try it on before you buy it!
THE IDEAL RANGE
You can pair the Long Jane with a UV-protection top, as well as a windbreaker shell jacket. For sailing in cooler weather, pair the Long Jane with a neoprene top as well.
REPAIRS
Thanks to the neoprene adhesive (see link), you can repair your diving suit by following the steps shown in the video (see link).
