A punch mitt designed to be effective to hold.
When on the other side of the punch mitts (and therefore holding them), having a product that is easy to use and fits well in your hands makes all the difference. Especially when you train often! That's why we added a rib-tap strap, in addition to a glove, to ensure it stays in your hand better. The punch mitt stays in place better, and if you need to use your hand the punch mitt stays attached to your wrist. A mesh net covers your fingers to protect your phalanges.
How to combine comfort and protection when training often
So you don't have to choose between two criteria, we created a product that meets both of them. For robustness, the impact zone is covered with a PU cover carefully designed to withstand friction and wear. For comfort, the back of the punch mitt is fitted with an imitation suede pad that absorbs energy at the wrist while also being perspiration-resistant. To combine the two, the various layers of foam, glued together, absorb energy and thus protect from impact.
Introducing the design of our punch mitt!
For enhanced feel when holding the punch mitt, we added an imitation suede cover at the back of the punch mitt as well as foam on the inside of the strap that comes into contact with the wrist. The punch mitt is curved to make it more ergonomic and allow it to absorb impact more naturally. Lastly, because the goal of training with punch mitts is to combine speed and accuracy, we placed a small target in the centre of the pad.
How we designed this product
From the beginning we wanted a product that was just as good for coaches as for the boxers themselves. So starting in February 2018, our 4-person product design team began discussions with our suppliers, created new tests, and redefined our in-house standards to raise our requirements. This was followed by in-house tests with 20 boxers and tests in sports clubs. This is why we are proud to present a product that is ergonomic, technical, and looks great!
Advice for punch mitts
Working with punch mitts is a must if you want to improve your technique. You work with a partner who tells you which punch to throw while moving around (your punch combinations become less mechanical than when using a heavy bag).
The aim is to learn various combinations and improve your precision and speed when working on your sparring technique.
There are an infinite number of combinations, which makes this type of training much more motivating.
