This foam-lined decoy will not sink and is more durable over time.
Many of you requested we create a foam teal model. And we listened. This decoy is filled with polyurethane foam. So that means even if a few steel pellets hit it when you’re shooting birds on the ground, it won’t sink. And a decoy that doesn't sink is one that doesn't need replacing during or at the end of the season. With this model your rig will last longer.
A realistic duck decoy designed to maximise your chances of attracting ducks
Our teams developed this teal model from start to finish. It features the best colour finishes of our entire decoy range, because at Solognac our aim is to bring ducks and waterfowlers face to face. this means reducing the distance between bird and shooter. With its life-like silhouette and texture that imitates real duck feathers, this teal decoy plays and essential role
The steps required to design this teal decoy
This decoy required several months of development. It all began with the work of a wood carver who brought the first prototype to life. 3D modelling was then carried out, along with various adjustments to the dimensions and posture, to produce a true-to-life decoy. A series of colorimetry and 3D-texturing phases for the feathers, interspersed with testing in the field, culminated in a decoy with ultra-realistic colouring.
The decoy's realism: an essential factor
When shooting from waterside hides, huts or cages, it is essential that the decoys be as solid, comprehensive and realistic as possible to lure wild ducks. With this accessory, the flock you lay out (we also advise arranging some of these models amongst your decoys) maximises your chances of getting birds to land.
Why do the characteristics of this teal decoy make it an essential accessory?
The keel of this decoy is weighted, guaranteeing optimal buoyancy when being lapped by water and small waves. Also, knowing that these decoys can remain in place for months on the water, our engineers keen on waterfowling opted for a main component made of resistant thermoplastic for better durability in the face of weather conditions and changing seasons. Finally, note that the properties of the paint withstand potential deterioration due to salt water.
A durable decoy designed to survive the seasons
In the light of feedback received from enthusiasts shooting from huts, cages and hides, the plastic's level of resistance was also designed to cope with transportation (car, boat, bag, etc.) and storage conditions during and after the hunting season. This factor, considered essential by any good waterfowler, has been worked on by our teams to ensure that the decoy has an optimal lifespan. It is also coated with mat paint that does not shine in a full moon at night.
